Well meaning blogger than I am, I have been meaning to take and post some pictures of this glorious unending fall we're having. Fortunately for me, Dooce lives in the 'hood and has lately posted some lovely snapshots of the flamboyant colors of autumn. This is a hill I can see from where I live and you can catch a similar view of the valley from the bike-a-vator. I realize it is nice to enjoy such spectacular beauty and I am fortunate to have all these perpetually warm sunny days but my inner Washingtonian is ready for some gray skies, if anything because it makes it easier to sit down and do my reading. Not that I have any problems doing that AT ALL. If anything this week is made easier by the fact that I keep thinking of the book as being called Uncle God's Country and it cracks me up every single time. Heh, like right now. Uncle God's Country. Heh. Heh. Heh.While I'm linking pictures-- you know I love a good slideshow-- this one freaking rocks. New York Times, thou almost persuadest me to get one of those masks that people in Asia wear during outbreaks or that I threatened to buy during a bout of Mount Rainier is going to erupt and corrupt my body with ash paranoia. Not that I've ever experienced that AT ALL.
Also, this is all kinds of awesome:
Uncle God's Country. Heh. Heh. Heh.
